The Saudi Society for Respiratory Care (SSRC) was established in February 2005 under the umbrella of the Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (IAU). The SSRC is a non-profit organization aims to enrich the respiratory care field in terms of science, research and practice, and improve the respiratory care practitioners by continuous educations programs.

Since establishment, the SSRC was leading the in the development of the respiratory care field and research conducting and dissemination by organizing periodic conferences and workshops. The SSRC scientific activities usually include key speakers and leaders in the field, nationally and internationally, with an aim to present and discuss the most recent updates in the field and how to face future challenges.

The SSRC main office is located at the Imam Abdurrahman Bin Faisal University (IAU) in AlDamma, Kingdome of Saudi Arabia. Recently a branch was established in Jizan in the southern region of Saudi Arabia to support the efforts to facilitate continuous career development in all the Kingdome. In 2010 the SSRC was recognized by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) which opened opportunities for collaborations to improve the field of respiratory care.

Vision: That the Saudi Scientific Society for Respiratory Care contribute to the development of the scientific and research aspect of respiratory care and continuing education for specialists, And contribute to community service.

Memberships in SSRC

Active Membership

  • The applicant to this membership must have a degree or an equivalent degree in respiratory care
  • Active members could participate in all SSRC activities (free of fees or with special rates)
  • Active members could be nominated and elected for board positions
  • Active members have the privilege of voting in SSRC board members election

Associate membership

  • This membership is for Non-RC health care practitioners and interns and students Eligible applicants will receive 50% discount for their fees
  • Associate members have the privilege to attend the general assembly meetings and committee and discussions with no right to vote in the management board election.
